.MAC TO .COM CONVERSION A few users of SLUT42.ARC and MACSLIDE have been asking me about the conversion program. They are asking me how they can use the .COM file for their MAC - view type program, (that only reads .MAC). Simple! When the conversion is done, not even one byte has been added or subtracted from the original .MAC file. Only the header. Your MAC view program should overlook this header and go for the RAW data. Programs like EDITMAC works. You should still have the 732+ vectors still intact. Simple RENAME the .COM file to .MAC via DOS. If you are a good programmer and you know what you are doing, you may use the DEBUG program to change the header back to the original state. 1. The first two bytes should be NUL (00) and a FF (0C). 2. Write the new changes as .MAC I hope this helps. P.S. I'll be taking a short leave of absence (Chicago) for about 6+ months, but will be popping in and out of hear every other month. Thanx, and take care.
