CHANGES I don't know if you read the changes file in the previous version, so I will summarize it. I sold my home in Santa Barbara, and moved to a small town in Northern California to concentrate on writing shareware full time. Well (you may ask), how's it going. I'm afraid that I underestimated a few things. I moved to a 2 1/2 acre parcel. For the last twenty years, I've lived in apartments and condominiums (no land to take care of). I spent my summer taking care of one current and one potential erosion problem, doing some landscaping projects, and learning how to garden again. All of this involved moving (I have a bill for 23000+ pounds of dirt) a few tons of rocks and dirt (among other things). My wife and I found that the house we moved too was just too small. Plus we found that we really missed having a garage. So of course we decided to add on to the house. The addition now has a roof, and it's about 1/3 finished on the outside. It will be my first three car garage. Now, one of the prime reasons in moving here was to keep my overhead low. Well (as you can probably guess), that has not been the case. To pay for all of this, I had to go back on the consulting trail. Well, I still haven't paid for all of it (and won't for a long time), so I will still be accepting consulting contracts for a while. With the advent of winter (first time that I've had seasons in about 15 years), things are slowing down. I'm down to one consulting job that should be finished soon, so I finally have time to get back to working on my shareware projects. I had planned to have a major new 2.0 release with pull down menus, selections from reboot (actually a separate, but connected, program), and other nifty stuff finished by now (insert a long Heavy Sigh at this point). I figure it will take at least two months of dedicated effort to get version 2.0 in the state that I want it, so I decided to incorporate the changes and enhancements that have been most requested by my registerees into the current version, and create this 1.4 release. If my plans don't go wrong again (insert long look Heavenward at this point), version 2.0 should be out about Christmas. Along with everything else, my plans for a BBS to support my products has also been delayed. It probably won't happen till next year. I'll try to make it sooner, but no promises. I love the place I've moved to (and I'll love it even more when the construction is finished). I thank you very much for the support you have given to AUTOCON, and for giving me the incentive to change careers. -Larry Weaver
