ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ BiModem is a file transfer protocol that can send and receive files simultaneously. BiModem can do this without any noticeable degrading of performance. ProDoor is a utility door written for PCBoard, but can be run under almost any BBS program with the right conversion program. ProDoor does most functions of PCBoard, but better. WHAT'S REQUIRED? ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ ProDoor version 3.01 and higher. PRODORxx.ZIP BiModem version 1.20 and higher. BIMODxxx.ZIP WHAT'S TO BE DONE? ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ Install BiModem with the BiModem installation program. Tell the installation program that you are running a BBS. Specify the directory where BiModem is to be installed. THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS REFER TO THE FIGURE #1 ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ Run the BiModem configuration program. Select other preferences - com port, speed, color, etc. Then select the "Filenames and Paths" option. Put ProDoor's PLAY directory path in the first (1) field. Optionally the aborted files can be put in ProDoor's HOLD directory or any directory for that matter. If upload crash recovery is allowed. This directory must be on the same drives as the PLAY directory. Enter this information in the second (2) field. If desired BiModem will scan the specified directories on your drives for duplicate uploads and reject them. *This is strongly recommended to avoid duplicate uploads!* Just create an ASCII file containing a list of the directories (PCBoard's DLPATH or ProDoor v3.2's PRODUP will do the job). Enter this path and the filename in the third (3) field. Make sure that the next 3 fields do not contain anything. (4 - 6 in figure #1). If you allow remote request transfer then fill-in as desired. The next 3 fields may be configured to your preference. (7 - 9 in figure #1). Figure #1. With BiModem, transfer takes place in both directions, therefore only one command line setup is required. For proper logging the setup should be for download (transmit) only.
