For custom audio digitizing of your favorite 1 liners or any special sounds,
to playback on your PC, just fill out the order form & send it (or a copy)
along with your cassette tape and floppy disks. Please fill out 1 form for
each cassette tape.
Digitized files are edited to remove any annoying static, blips and extra
silence at the beginning and end of the file. You may request additional
editing by describing your wishes in detail. (ie: cutting words or sections)
Bonus sound files will appear on your floppy disks, when space allows.
Each second of sound will generate approximately 15K bytes of output.
So a 360k floppy will hold about 24 seconds, and a 1.2mb floppy will hold
about 80 seconds of digitized sound. This is based on a recording rate of
180 (15700hz).
Prices are as follows:
$8 per 360k floppy disk of digitized sound files.
(captured from any number of cassette tapes)
$20 per 1.2m floppy disk of digitized sound files.
(captured from any number of cassette tapes)
$5 extra to capture sound from each VHS video Cassette.
This service is being provided for those who might not
have their TV or VCR connected to a stereo.
$5 per sound file captured, with no cassette tapes provided.
This means I'll try to find the recording you want, but I
can't make any promises. You'll have to be very specific
about titles and quotes in this case. If I am unable
to fullfill your request within 4 weeks, your check will
be returned. You may also specify alternates.
$3 per sound file edited. Send me your existing sound files
on floppy disk, and tell me how you'd like them changed.
(leading or trailing silence removed, words removed or
rearranged, phrases split, etc)
All prices include postage to return your cassette tapes & floppy disks.
If you are unhappy with your digitized sound files, or if I misunderstood
your directions, I will re-record your order once free of charge.

The best recordings can be made by adhering to the following guidelines:
1. Use a good quality cassette tape. Cheap tapes will usually
give only marginal results. Your tapes will all be returned to you.
2. Connect components directly to each other whenever possible.
(ie: your stereo to your VCR). This eliminates much of the static
and distortion introduced by microphones and speakers.
The digitized sound file can only sound as good as the recording
it's made from.
3. If you have a bass control, turn it down slightly, to produce a
nice clear crisp recording. PC speakers don't do bass too well.
Be sure to use a high enough recording level or volume, to produce
a good strong recording.
4. Try to leave a short pause between phrases or sections. This helps
me to know where the cutoff is for each file and makes editing
easier in general.
