The following is a discription of the procedure to follow to load a Timbre file into Roland's MT-32 using an IBM computer. Use the program QS20 to load the timbre file (SIDSOND1.TMB, UPLOAD2.TMB or UPLOAD3.TMB). To do this type "QS ". While the file is loading, the MIDI MESSAGE light on the MT-32 will be flashing and the computer will beep. After the file has been loaded, run the program MT32SET. From the main menu select PATCH TEMP. From the PATCH TEMP menu select TIMBRE. When asked to enter part, type "1". When asked to enter timbre group, type "2". When asked to enter timbre number, type the number of the desired timbre from the following lists. To display the selected timbre on the display panel on the MT-32, press the part 1 pushbutton. You have just loaded your selected timbre into part 1 of the MT-32. To load more timbre selections into other parts of the MT-32, select a different part number in the MT32SET program.
