Therefore, one of the two following setup procedures will configure Quattro Pro for use with non color VGA displays. Try both of the following procedures. One of the two will work for your system. Setting Up for a Monochrome Display 1. At the DOS prompt, type: MODE MONO 2. Make the Quattro Pro directory the current DOS directory by using CD (for example, CD \QPRO if Quattro Pro is installed in a directory called QPRO). 3. Type the following command to run Quattro Pro: Q /IM (or Q123 /IM if you wish to use the 1-2-3 Compatible Menu Tree). 4. If the screen goes blank at this point, press to return to the DOS prompt. You must use Setting Up for a Black & White Display below. 5. If the display comes up properly at this point, then do the following if using the Quattro Pro Menu Tree: a. Select: / Options, Hardware, Screen, Screen Type, J. VGA b. Select: Quit c. Select: Colors, Palettes, Monochrome d. Select: Quit, Quit, Update, Quit 6. Do the following if using the Lotus Compatible Menu Tree: a. Select: / Worksheet, Global, Default, Hardware, Screen, Screen Type, J. VGA b. Select: Colors, Palettes, Monochrome d. Select: Quit, Quit, Update, Quit From now on, Quattro Pro will load properly. If the screen goes blank in the future when attempting to load the program, perform the above steps again. Setting Up for a Black & White Display 1. At the DOS prompt, type: MODE BW80 2. Make the Quattro Pro directory the current DOS directory by using CD (for example, CD \QPRO if Quattro Pro is installed in a directory called QPRO). 3. Type the following command to run Quattro Pro: Q /IB (or Q123 /IB if you wish to use the 1-2-3 Compatible Menu Tree). 4. If the screen goes blank at this point, press to return to the DOS prompt.
